JJ is a registered trademark that stands for "Jonette Jewelry Company".
Jonette Jewelry was a family-owned business that had been making collectible
costume jewelry for over 60 years.
They were founded by Abraham Lisker in East Providence, Rhode Island, &
originally were called the "Providence Jewelry Company".
Then changed their name to "Lisker & Lisker" when brother Nathan
joined them in the business, When World War II started they stopped their production.
They then began using name "Jonette Jewelry" after the war was over,
the name came from their parents names, "John" & "Etta".
In 1970, they started using the copyright "JJ" stamp on all pieces made.
In 1986 they registered the popular Artifacts mark.
